Positive Attitude Produces Results

"Attitude determines altitude." There is currently a very positive attitude in Paris. We are seeing increased confidence in our community. Expansions in manufacturing and the State petroleum sector are creating higher employment which influences the accompanying multiplier effect on our economy. The result is more commercial growth and increased retail sales.

Support services are expanding throughout the region. Paris' tax base increased by 7 1/2 percent in 2006, and the city's credit rating also improved - bringing savings to taxpayers on borrowed money. The Paris Economic Development Corporation is addressing the shortage of existing buildings and land for future development.

We thank the many volunteers at The Lamar County Chamber of Commerce that work with PEDC daily to help make these positive gains happen for Paris. They care about Paris and Lamar County. Economic and community development is truly a team effort, and we are proud to be part of the Paris Team.
